To be completely honest, I did not know about Corral Pink Sand Dunes State Park until I saw the sign for it while driving around Route 89 in Utah. With a couple of hours to spare I decided to check it out and wow, was I happy I did! The sand is the softest you could possibly imagine, no beach sand compares to it, and of a bright orangish-pink it is a sight to behold.
After days of hiking, walking in this warm, fine sand, was pure bliss, the best massage my feet could have asked for.
The entire time I was there only another couple showed up in the area where I was exploring. There were some people on ATVs in the distance, but thankfully far away so I could not hear them. And a few people closer by on another dune seemed to be doing a photo shoot. This is a great little detour if you are in the area of Kanab.
